Startup Camp Berlins history started back in 2004. Eva Nöll, Florian Nöll and Sascha Schubert decided to invite Startup Founders, who survived the turmoils of the new economoy crises, to share their experience, storys and failures with young Entrepreneurs aiming on building Startups. In 2005 the first one day, single track conference with 56 attendees took place. Arnd Kwiatkowski (Founder Immobilien Scout 24) was one of the first speakers and Ehssan Dahriani (Founder of StudiVZ) was the first person ever who bought a ticket. The Name of the Conference at that time was Startup Lounge. In 2010 Stefan Wolpers and Sascha Schubert reinvented & restartet the (un) conference. The new Name Startup Camp Berlin. In the last 14 Years of history we have seen aprox. 1.000 Speakers, 7.000 Startup Founders and 300 Investors and Berlin becoming a Startup Capital in Europe. The First Conference was subsidized by the Senat of Economics with 4.000€. Best Investment ever, so good 🙂
Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V. (German Startups Association) is the representative and voice of startups in Germany. Its mission is to connect founders, startups and investors with each other to create a broad network. By fostering these relationships, the GSA builds bridges between global startup hubs, nations and continents. As of December 2017, the GSA has 750 members including startups, student entrepreneuship initiatives and major corporations.
Berlin Startups is the Berlin chapter of the German Startups Association. A non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a vibrant entrepreneurial culture in Germany, shared learning and a positive business image. We organize Startup related events such as Startup Camp Berlin, Pitch Marathon and Startup Lounges.
